Magnetosphere

This soft sculpture is a scale model replica of the sun facing side of the magnetosphere. This stuffed model mimics the way the Earth's magnetic field cushions the Earth from the solar wind, and the way it contracts and re-expands in response to pressure, similar to a pillow. Made as part of the Moldwin Art/Sci Residency through ArtsEngine at the University of Michigan.
